Understanding the need of YOUCampaign

Understanding the need of YOUCampaign

Before YOUCampaign, our clients had to go back and forth with our customer care team to place bulk eGift card orders. It was exhausting because the process involved two separate steps. First, they'd configure their order by choosing the eGift card brand, denomination, and campaign dates. Then they'd share receiver details like names, emails, and phone numbers. After spending hours on all this, we'd send them an Excel sheet with the eGift card details, which they'd then forward to recipients.

Our clients told us this was way too complicated, and they needed something better. We listened. That's why we built YOUCampaign, a self-service portal where clients can place bulk eGift card orders quickly and easily, all in one place.

TL;DR

Earlier, bulk eGift card orders required calls with business development team and requires information exchange over calls or emails. YOUCampaign allows clients to place bulk eGift card orders easily and within minutes with added functionalities.

Deciding the scope of YOUCampaign

Deciding the scope of YOUCampaign

To gain a deeper understanding of client needs and identify potential improvements, We conducted interviews with these teams.

The insights gathered from these interviews revealed several key areas where we could enhance the user experience. Based on these findings, we developed the following features:

✅ All Orders in one place

Clients will be provided with a provision to see all the orders (we call them campaigns) and their status at once

✅ Setting up Campaigns as convenience

Clients now have the provision to either prepare the orders ahead of time and send them out later or prepare orders and deliver them right away.

✅ Performance Analytics

Analytics about the campaigns was a big demand from the clients which would allow them to know how many orders they have delivered etc.

✅ Easy Delivery Options

Clients can now download the eGift cards in CSV format or deliver them directly to the receipient's inbox.

To Summarise

We need to design a portal that allows clients to configure cards with customisable options such as amount, type, activation expiry, and more. We also need to personalise the Redemption Portal for clients to align with the organisation's branding and messaging. For delivery, clients can choose between YOUGotaGift's services or bulk downloads for self-distribution.

Challenge:

Defining an optimal user journey

Challenge:

Defining an optimal user journey

During the initial discovery phase collaboration with product managers and other stakeholders, it was proposed that the user journey would be like

Step 1: Users had to first establish a campaign by configuring amount & redemption portal.

Step 2: After configuring the campaign, users navigate to a separate tab to select the campaign and delivery mode.

This process felt disjointed, requiring users to switch between tabs just to complete a single task. These interruptions in the user journey were unnecessary and led to an extended process.

💡 Suggested User Journey

I informed the stakeholders that there was an opportunity to create a more efficient and streamlined user journey. This improved journey aimed to help us achieve our goals more quickly and effectively. The proposed user journey included:

Step 1: Users configure the campaign along with the redemption portal.

Step 2: Once users complete the campaign configuration, they are redirected to a preview page where they can either exit or proceed to deliver the eGift card immediately.

This unified user journey significantly reduced the time required to complete the process. Additionally, clients who prefer to deliver eGift cards later can easily return and continue from where they left off.

Dashboard

Dashboard

The dashboard is the landing page users see after a successful login and acts as a one-stop view for all key analytics and actions.

It brings together campaign analytics with configurable data based on the client’s needs, such as the number of campaigns created, eGift cards sent, and overall campaign performance, along with the available balance required to create new campaigns.

The dashboard also shows a list of recent campaigns with basic details, serving as an activity log, and includes a “Watch Tutorial” option that guides users through creating campaigns more easily.

My Campaigns

My Campaigns

Through user research, we discovered that many of our clients have over 50 campaigns in their accounts. Clients preferred having all their campaigns in one place, where they could either replicate past campaigns or keep track of them.

Managing such a large number of campaigns could make searching, scrolling, and navigation more difficult. Additionally, since drafts will also be placed on the 'My Campaigns' page, we needed to distinguish between configured campaigns and drafts. To address this, we added a small heading followed by a line to separate the two sections.

As part of the enhancement, a search feature will be available in YOUCampaign by November 2024.

Campaign Preview

Campaign Preview

The campaign preview page serves as a midpoint in the user journey, where clients have completed configuring the campaign, with only the delivery remaining.

Expectations:
Users wanted to configure campaigns well in advance and deliver the orders at a later time.

Solution:
To meet these expectations, we built this page so users can return later to proceed with the delivery. This allows them to complete the tedious work first and easily deliver the order later, as all configurations are saved for future use.

The campaign preview screen displays:

  1. Campaign Status: Users can see if the campaign is configured, saved as a draft, or delivered using status tags.

  2. Campaign Data: Key information related to the campaign configuration, such as the eGift card name, start date, and budget.

  3. Redemption Portal Preview: A white-labeled solution for recipients to redeem their eGift cards, which can be branded according to the client’s needs.

New Delivery Methods

New Delivery Methods

Previously, eGift cards were delivered to clients in Excel sheets, which they would then manually forward to recipients one by one. We aimed to streamline this process by assisting clients with the delivery.

  1. Enter Recipient Details: Clients can upload a list of recipients and their details into our system using a pre-made Excel template, available for download on the screen.

  2. Customize Message & Delivery: After uploading recipient details, clients can personalize the email and SMS messages to be sent. They can add custom images and send a test email to their own address for confirmation. Delivery can be scheduled or sent immediately.

  3. Checkout: Once everything is set up, clients can complete the payment and finalize the process.

Design considerations

Design considerations

This app revamp transformed a cluttered user interface (UI) into a streamlined and scalable design system. To ensure scalability, I implemented a series of key strategies:

✅ Centralised Design System

We stuck to a centralised library of components, styles, and guidelines. It kept everything consistent and makes updating easier across the board.

✅ Unified Design Tokens

A centralised system for colors, typography, spacing, and other design attributes ensured visual consistency and simplified design updates.

✅ Use of Components

Reusable UI elements were built, allowing for efficient layout creation and management across different screens and functionalities such as input fields, CTA's etc
